Endowed award; two awards are granted annually; established by Edna Staebler in recognition of Gerald Noonan, a dedicated faculty member of the Department of English from 1969 to 1995.This is the application for competitive scholarships and awards for undergraduate students. This completed application is required for all award opportunities which state that an application is required, with the exception of opportunities which specifically indicate that a “distinct” application is required.
Eligibility
Full-time undergraduate students not in Year 1;
- majoring in English; strongly demonstrated interest in Canadian literature and creative writing;
- high academic standing; Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident (landed immigrant) or Protected Person;
- preference will be given to students residing in Waterloo-Wellington counties;
- long-term resident of Ontario; proven financial need;
- in exceptional circumstances a Year 1 student will be considered
